The condition is overall very good, minor inscription in first issue, and occasional foxing and slight chips to edges of wrappers in a couple of issues only.
A complete set of one of Australia's most important artistic and literary journals of the twentieth century, with numerous original artworks printed from the artist's blocks. In 'The prints of Margaret Preston' (NGA: 2005), Roger Butler identifies the woodblock 'Banksia' as being printed in an edition of 750 copies for the 'Manuscripts' serial in September 1933. Other Preston woodblocks such as 'A translation from Picasso' were printed in an edition of 1200 copies for the magazine.]
